VETA Kihonda to Host National Launch of Youth Entrepreneurship Project

The Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) Kihonda College will tomorrow host the official launch of the Youth Entrepreneurship for the Future of Food and Agriculture (YEFFA) project, a major initiative aimed at empowering young people with skills and opportunities in agribusiness and entrepreneurship.

The event will take place at VETA Kihonda in Morogoro and is expected to bring together government officials, development partners, students and youth groups from different regions.

The Guest of Honour will be Wanu Hafidh Ameir, Deputy Minister for Education, Science and Technology, who will officially inaugurate the project.

According to organizers, the YEFFA project seeks to enhance youth participation in the food and agriculture sector through vocational training, entrepreneurship development and access to employment opportunities. The programme targets more than 5,631 young people, equipping them with practical skills to improve productivity and income generation.

Speaking ahead of the event, VETA officials said the project aligns with the government’s commitment to strengthen technical and vocational education as a pathway to employment and self-reliance among youth.

The project is being implemented in partnership with several development organizations, including AGRA, AMISHA, BRAC, RUATI and other stakeholders working in youth empowerment and agricultural development.

The launch ceremony will begin at 3:00 a.m. and will feature speeches from key leaders, presentations on project objectives and demonstrations of vocational training activities.

Under the theme “Skills for all, opportunities for everyone,” the YEFFA project is expected to play a significant role in transforming the lives of young Tanzanians by linking vocational skills with entrepreneurship in the food and agriculture value chain.
